Dear Students, Staff and Faculty
It is with great sadness that I must inform you that one of our former Honour students, Mohammad Asadi Lari, was killed as a result of the crash of Ukranian Airlines Flight 752 from Tehran to Kiev. Mohammad was an outstanding student who was a UBC Faces of Today Leader, was awarded the governor General’s Bronze Medal and was named a 3M National Student Fellow by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.
After graduating from UBC with a BSc he was accepted into the MD/PhD program at the University of Toronto.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends and loved ones.
